In September 2016, we visited Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. We were lucky enough to get into contact with Alovaddin for our time in Tajikistan. While planning our trip, Alovaddin was extremely helpful. We decided to book a 5 day tour in the Fann Mountains and we can honestly say it was the highlight of our trip.
We were picked up at the time we agreed in Dushanbe and were greeted by our very polite guide and driver. They were great company during the drive to the mountains. We had a nice lunch on the road and they surprised us with some welcome souvenirs. The first night we stayed at an old (soviet style) summer camp, which was great fun. The next day we started our hike. As we are not experienced hikers, our guide adjusted to our level. After a long hike through stunning scenery, it was time to set up our first camp.
Alovaddin provided us with a new tent and sleeping mat. The people from Paramount Journey took care of us extremely well: setting up our camp and cooking for us made the trip feel much more ‘luxureous’ as expected. There even was a table cloth for our dinners inside the tent. The following days we continued hiking, each lake and mountain pass breathtakingly beautiful and having a guide like Humo, made it even more enjoyable. I also thought it was great of Humo that he would provide help for other tourists that we encounterd and had questions on which route to take (and did not have a guide with them) or serving as a translator!
After our trekking ended, we were picked up by our driver. We were supposed to obtain our visa to Uzbekistan at the embassy in Dushanbe and continue to the border. Unfortunately, getting our visa proved to be more difficult as expected. It took us about 2/3 hours, but our driver stayed with us the whole time! When driving towards the border, he even invited us for a goodbye lunch in a great restaurant.
We cannot recommend Paramount Journey enough: You will be in good hands as all the people working for Paramount Journey and Alovaddin are great company, very polite and extremely helpful.
